This guide provides information for how law enforcement and government agencies should submit requests for disclosure of information.
1. ABOUT MV VERSE INC.
MV Verse Inc. ("MV") operates the ManyVids.com platform and related services (the "Platform"), connecting content Creators with Members. "Personal Data" has the meaning set out in MV’s Privacy Policy, which governs in the event of any inconsistency with this Guide. MV discloses Personal Data to law enforcement or government agencies only where legally required or permitted, including in response to valid legal process or in narrowly defined emergencies. Foreign requests may be handled directly or through recognized international cooperation channels, as legally required. All disclosures are limited to the minimum information necessary and made in compliance with applicable law.
2. CONTACT INFORMATION FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
MV may, at its discretion, review legal process sent to legal@manyvids.com, care of MV Verse Inc., Legal Department. This is offered for administrative convenience only and does not waive any objections regarding formal service, jurisdiction, or defects in process, and address for service is available upon request. Emergency requests should be sent to help@manyvids.com, with a copy to legal@manyvids.com.
3. LANGUAGE AND MINIMUM CONTENT REQUIREMENTS
All law enforcement requests must be submitted in English or French, or accompanied by an official translation, and must meet the content and identification requirements set out in Section 4. Requests that are unclear, incomplete, illegible, overly broad, vague, or insufficiently detailed may be delayed, declined, or returned for clarification, as permitted by law.
4. TYPES OF REQUESTS
All requests for non-public information must include officer and agency information, namely the name, title, and official contact information of the requesting officer, the name of the agency or unit, a valid official return email address, and the applicable response deadline or statutory timeline. Requests must also include case and data requirements, namely the subject matter of the investigation, a clear description of the information sought and its relevance, and at least one specific user identifier, such as a username, profile URL, email address, legal name, billing address, or relevant payment information (for example, bank or payout identifiers, truncated card digits, or transaction timestamps). Requests that are vague, overly broad, speculative, or lacking sufficient identifying information will not be processed.
4.1 Emergency Disclosure Requests (EDRs)
Where permitted by law, MV may disclose limited non-public information without formal legal process when there is a good faith basis to believe an individual faces an imminent threat of death, serious bodily harm, or serious harm to a child, including situations such as assault, abduction, trafficking, or child sexual exploitation. The request must identify the individual at risk, describe the emergency and the harm to be prevented, and explain why the information is necessary to address it. MV evaluates each request on a case-by-case basis, at its sole discretion, relying on the request itself or on representations from a recognized law enforcement authority, and discloses only the minimum information needed. MV may also preserve related data, restrict harmful content, or observe applicable confidentiality obligations. Routine, speculative, or unsupported requests will not be treated as emergencies.
4.2 Non-Emergency Formal Legal Requests
MV discloses non-public account information in non-emergency situations only when supported by valid and jurisdictionally appropriate legal authority, such as a court order, production order, subpoena, search warrant, or a request submitted through an established international cooperation mechanism. Each request must describe the subject matter of the investigation, identify the information sought, and explain how that information relates to the investigation. MV may decline requests that are overly broad, unsupported, or seek information already visible on a user’s public profile unless a legal requirement or specific investigative need justifies otherwise.
4.3 Preservation Requests
MV accepts preservation requests when the identified records may be relevant to an ongoing investigation or legal proceeding. A preservation request must specify the preservation period and describe the data to be preserved, along with its relevance to the matter. Preservation allows MV to retain existing information for a limited time while the requesting agency seeks the necessary legal process required for disclosure. MV typically preserves responsive data for up to ninety days unless a longer period is required by law. Extensions may be considered upon written request, but each extension must be submitted as a separate preservation request. MV may decline preservation requests that are overly broad, speculative, or untimely, and may require formal legal process before preserving certain categories of data.
5. AVAILABLE ACCOUNT INFORMATION AND DATA COLLECTED
MV collects and retains certain categories of information from Members and Creators in accordance with its Privacy Policy, operational requirements, and applicable privacy and data protection laws. The type and duration of data retention vary based on account type, user activity, regulatory obligations, and technical or security needs.
6. RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA
MV retains Personal Data in accordance with its Privacy Policy, applicable privacy and data protection laws, and legitimate operational needs. Retention periods vary by data type, purpose of collection, and applicable legal obligations, ranging from brief retention to several years where required to satisfy statutory, financial, trust and safety, fraud prevention, or legal claim requirements. Deletion or anonymization requests are assessed under applicable law and MV’s Privacy Policy, though MV may continue to retain limited information where required or permitted by law, including for compliance, fraud prevention, security, or the defence of legal claims. Retention may also be affected by user actions, preservation requests, system changes, or MV’s data minimization practices. As a general guideline, some categories of data may be retained for several years after account closure, though periods are not uniform across systems and may evolve; MV’s Privacy Policy provides further detail.
7. COST REIMBURSEMENT
MV reserves the right to request reasonable reimbursement, assessed in accordance with applicable law, for costs associated with processing law enforcement requests, including extensive data retrieval, technical effort, legal review, or production of records in specialized formats, with an estimate provided beforehand where costs are expected to be material; where MV’s presence or testimony is required in person, including at a hearing, deposition, or trial, the requesting party shall similarly bear all associated travel and accommodation costs, to the extent permitted by law, including business class airfare, a reasonable business-standard hotel within 30 km of the location where MV’s representative is required to appear, and a per diem for meals and incidentals at prevailing customary rates.
8. AFFIDAVITS AND CERTIFICATIONS
When required by applicable law, court order, or valid legal process, MV may provide affidavits, declarations, business-record certifications, or other attestations to accompany law enforcement productions, solely to authenticate MV’s records or confirm how they were generated, maintained, or preserved in the ordinary course of business. Where reasonably practicable, MV will prepare these in a format suitable for the requesting jurisdiction, but cannot guarantee compliance with unique or atypical requirements, and does not provide expert testimony, opinions, or statements beyond authenticating its business records.
9. REQUESTS FROM FOREIGN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND MLAT PROCEDURES
As a Canadian company, MV Verse Inc. holds all Platform user data and processes foreign law enforcement requests only in accordance with Canadian law and applicable international cooperation mechanisms; all such requests must meet the requirements in Sections 3 and 4. This applies even where a request is directed to one of MV’s US or EU affiliates (MV Productions Inc. and MV Productions EU Ltd.), since those entities do not hold Platform data and any such request should be redirected to MV Verse Inc. Foreign subpoenas, warrants, or court orders carry no legal force in Canada unless validated through Canadian legal process, so MV may direct foreign agencies to proceed through recognized channels such as Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs) or letters rogatory. Where Canadian law permits, MV may respond directly to foreign legal process from a competent authority that satisfies this Guide; otherwise, an MLAT or similar process is required before any non-public information is disclosed. Foreign emergency requests may be submitted directly and are evaluated under Section 4.1, and MV may request additional information to verify jurisdiction, legitimacy, or urgency. MV does not process foreign requests that are overly broad, unsupported, inconsistent with Canadian law, or outside its legal obligations, and may require clarification or resubmission through the proper channel.
10. USER NOTIFICATION POLICY
Unless legally prohibited, MV, at its discretion, may notify users when their data is requested by an external party, and may suspend or close an account if it determines that continued operation of the account may expose MV to liability, unless the requesting agency specifically asks MV to refrain from doing so in order to avoid alerting the subject of an ongoing investigation, by including a valid and binding non-disclosure order.
11. RESPONSE FORMAT AND TIMELINES
MV responds to valid law enforcement requests as promptly as reasonably practicable, considering the request’s nature, scope, and complexity, the volume of data involved, the type of legal process submitted, and MV’s operational capacity; response times vary and are not guaranteed, though requests that are clearly framed, legally sufficient, and supported by precise user identifiers can generally be processed more efficiently, and MV may request clarification or narrowing to ensure legal sufficiency, proportionality, or technical feasibility. Responses are provided through secure electronic delivery or another legally appropriate method, with any required affidavits or certifications handled per Section 8; multiple or unnecessary follow-ups may delay processing, and MV may prioritize emergency or time-sensitive matters over routine requests.
12. NO WAIVER
Transmission or receipt of law enforcement correspondence through the channels described in this Guide is for administrative convenience only and does not constitute formal service of process. Nothing in this Guide, or in any communication with MV, waives MV Verse Inc.’s objections to personal jurisdiction, objections to improper or defective service, or any other legal rights, remedies, or defences available under applicable law. MV expressly reserves all such rights in every case.
